Business entities

A business entity can be used to represent a legal entity within your company. It allows the grouping of projects and their related financial data, which can be useful for reporting purposes.

How business entities work

  • By default, every client has a default business entity (typically the company name, see Default business entity). These entities can be managed and updated under Admin Settings > General > Business Entities.
  • Every project is tagged with the default business entity, but this can be modified by the project manager if more options are available.

Default business entity

A default business entity is created automatically when a tenant is provisioned.

INFO

The business entities feature was added in April 2026. Tenants created before this date will have all their existing projects mapped to this entity.
