Use the data exporter
This page explains how to use Consult's data exporter tool.
Permissions required
Only users that have Set Admin Settings as part of their role can access the data exporter tool.
If you can access Tools > Data Exported in the top navigation, you have sufficient permissions.
How to use the data exporter
- From the navbar, go to Tools > Data Exporter.
- Choose the export option.
- Click Export. This will download an Excel file with the requested data.
Query option 1: User Timesheets
Export all users' weekly timesheet statuses for the current month.
Additional information about this export option:
- This export is applicable for the current month, so no date input is required.
- The format for the exported file name is:
User-timesheets-overview-{YYYY-MM-DD HH_MM_SS}.xlsx.
How this export is generated:
- Time scope is the current month and year at the time of export.
- Users are set to include all users with an active account.
- For each week, the code looks up the submission for each user and uses the status if present.
Data in the spreadsheet
Headings are dynamically generated based on the past 4 weeks, including the current week.

Query option 2: User Expenses
Export all expense claims submitted in Consult for a given period. The export contains multiple sections, which are rendered as separate tables in a single spreadsheet.
Additional information about this export option:
- The file name for the export will be
AllUsers-ExpenseReports-<dateRange>.xlsx.
Sections in the spreadsheet
The export organizes data into sections, each with its own set of columns. The following lists the headings used for each section:
- Disbursements: Expenses where the Type is
MealsorToll Fees. - Travel: Mileage claims.
- Accommodation: Expenses where Type is
Accommodation. - Other: All other expenses.
- Totals: Subtotals by category and a grand total.
