This guide provides step-by-step instructions for submitting a leave request within the TwentyDegrees Consult platform. It is designed for professional users and administrators to ensure leave requests are processed accurately and efficiently.
Overview
A leave request enables you to formally notify your organization of planned absences.
It also ensures proper approval and record keeping.
The leave management system supports various leave types (e.g., annual, sick) and integrates with user accounts, balances, and notifications.
How to log a leave request
Step 1: Access the leave requests page
- Login to your account on the Consult platform.
- Navigate to the Leave Requests section:
- Select "My Leave" from the navigation options.
- You will be directed to the leave requests dashboard where you can view the status of your previous requests.
Step 2: Initiate a new leave request
- Click on the New Leave Request button.
- The leave request form will appear. This form typically includes:
- Leave type: Select the type of leave (e.g., annual, sick).
- Start date and End date: Specify the period of your absence.
- Reason: Provide a brief description or justification for your leave.
- Attachment (optional): Upload supporting documents if required (e.g., medical certificate).
Step 3: Review leave balance
- Your available leave balance will be displayed.
- This allows you to verify sufficient entitlement before submitting your request.
Step 4: Submit the leave request
- Review all information entered for accuracy.
- Click Submit.
- Your request will be saved and routed for approval.
- You will receive a notification confirming the submission.
What happens after submission
- Approval workflow: Your request will be sent to the designated approver(s). You will receive notifications for status updates (approved, declined, or cancelled).
- Leave balance deduction: Upon approval, your leave balance will be updated automatically.
- Status tracking: You can monitor the status of your request on the dashboard:
- Pending: Awaiting approval.
- Approved: Leave has been granted.
- Declined: Leave has been rejected.
- Cancelled: Request has been withdrawn.
Managing existing requests
- View details: Click on any leave request to view its details, including dates, type, duration, and status.
- Cancel request: If necessary, you may cancel a pending request before approval.
- Resend/modify: Contact your administrator if you need to modify a request after submission.
Notes & best practices
- Public holidays: The system automatically excludes official public holidays from your leave calculation.
- Documentation: Always attach required supporting documents to avoid delays.
- Advance notice: Submit your leave request well in advance to ensure timely processing.
Troubleshooting
- Unable to submit: Ensure all required fields are completed and you have sufficient leave balance.
- No leave types available: Contact your HR or system administrator for assistance.
- Forgotten to attach document: You may need to cancel and resubmit your request with the attachment.
